Idiap is an equal salary employer

Following an external audit, the Institute was declared to be an equal salary employer. Including more diversity remains an important goal for Idiap, as our professional environment suffers from a lack of diversity on the global scale.

As required by the law, thanks to our public funding, our institute was audited to monitor salary equality among our employees. The results confirmed there was no distortion based on gender and that monitoring mechanisms were properly put in place by Idiap’s management. The external analysis was conducted in September 2020 and the results of the audit communicated a few days ago.

The main gap observed by the study is due to the fact that more research positions are held by men at Idiap. This observation is unfortunately quite common in many research areas encompassed in Idiap’s activities. To contribute to a more balanced research environment, Idiap is not only working on creating less biased scientific data bases, but is also encouraging women and offering them careers opportunities. Among the four last permanent new researchers recruited in February 2021, half were women. Our dedicated Female fellowship program is another tool to encourage female to pursue their research work.
