Thomas Meyer, new Idiap PhD student

As a PhD student, Thomas Meyer is working with Dr. Andrei Popescu-Belis on the COMTIS project (a cooperation between Idiap and the Departments of Linguistics and Computational Linguistics of the University of Geneva, see

The project is about improving the coherence of Machine Translation output by modeling intersentential relations.

Thomas has a Master of Arts degree from the University of Zurich in German and Computational Linguistics. For the past three years, before joining Idiap, he has worked for a chemical analysis company, where he lead the translation and terminology management of the technical documentation of the company.
