Romain Tavenard joins Idiap for a postdoc

Romain Tavenard graduated from École Centrale de Lyon in 2006. He then spent a one-year internship with Éric Pauwels' group in CWI (Amsterdam - The Netherlands), working on learning temporal patterns from sensor networks. He began his PhD with the TEXMEX group at IRISA (Rennes - France) in September 2007 about "Indexing feature sequences", under supervision of Laurent Amsaleg and Patrick Gros and defended it in 2011. His research at Idiap will focus on action recognition in videos.
