Idiap celebrates 35 years: two events not to be missed in September
To celebrate the Institute’s 35th anniversary, two events are on the programme this autumn:
Open Day – 12 September 2026
On Saturday, 12 September, from 9:30 a.m., Idiap will open its doors to the public. Whether you are passionate about technology, curious to discover what goes on behind the scenes of research, or visiting with your family, this day will be the perfect opportunity to dive into the world of artificial intelligence.
The programme includes:
- interactive workshops;
- live demonstrations;
- hands-on experiences;
- opportunities to meet our scientists;
- a look at today’s and tomorrow’s technologies.
You will have the opportunity to understand how machines learn to recognise speech, images and gestures, and discover how artificial intelligence is already part of many aspects of our daily lives.
Our teams will be on hand to answer your questions and share their passion and expertise.
The presentations and workshops will be held in French, while the demonstrations and exhibition stands will be available in both French and English.

Innovation Day: a half-day dedicated to industry – 11 September 2026
On Friday, 11 September, the day before the Open Day, Idiap will welcome industry representatives for a half-day dedicated to collaboration between research and business. Registration is required. The event will provide an opportunity to discover the innovations developed at the Institute and exchange with our researchers about the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence.
