Idiap and EPFL Renew Their Strategic Alliance for 2025–2028

Idiap and EPFL have renewed their strategic alliance for the 2025–2028 period, further reinforcing a long-standing collaboration grounded in complementary expertise and shared objectives.

As one of the founding members of Idiap, EPFL has maintained close ties with the Institute for many years. Their collaboration spans several areas, particularly education, through the training of doctoral students and the supervision of bachelor’s and master’s projects. In addition, several Idiap research scientists hold academic positions at EPFL and teach courses there, further reinforcing the synergy between the two institutions.

This new four-year agreement formalizes the commitment of both institutions to advance research, education, and technology transfer, with the aim of enhancing their impact in the field of artificial intelligence.

The alliance was signed on November 21, 2026 by Anne-Laure Couchepin-Vouilloz, President of Idiap Foundation Council; Christophe Rossa, Financial Director of Idiap; Anna Fontcuberta i Morral, President of EPFL; and Ambrogio Fasoli, EPFL Vice President for Academic Affairs.
