Idiap researchers received a best paper award sponsored by Microsoft Research.

Idiap researchers, namely Venkatesh Bala Subburaman and Sébastien Marcel, received the best paper award for their paper "Fast Bounding Box Estimation based Face Detection" presented at the European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV) Workshop, "Face Detection: where we are and what's next ?", on September 10, 2010. This workshop was organized by Vidit Jain (Yahoo! Labs), Gang Hua (Nokia Research) and Michael Jones (MERL) and the award was sponsored by Microsoft Research Asia.
