Best Student Entry Award to Darshan Santani
Darshan Santani (PhD student working with Daniel Gatica-Perez at the Social Computing Group) received the Best Student Entry Award at the Data Visualization Challenge of the ACM Web Science Conference (WebSci), in Bloomington, Indiana, Jun. 23-26, 2014.
His proposed visualization is titled: "#-grams: Twitter Pulse from Hashtag Co-Occurrence Networks", which reveals key worldwide events captured in Twitter during November 2012.
