Idiap Awards
Every year the Idiap Research Institute grants two awards to its students: the Idiap Paper Award and the Idiap Research Award. These awards are seen as equally valuable.
Idiap PhD Student Paper Award
The awards are based upon the following procedures.
Idiap PhD Student Research Award- The Award is based on 5 criteria: publications, collaboration, project involvement, communication skills, and autonomy.
- Seniors nominate 3 students, in ranked order, on the basis of the above criteria.
- The award will be presented to the student with the highest score.
Idiap PhD Student Paper Award
- Seniors browse all papers published in the previous 12 months whose first author is an Idiap student.
- Seniors meet in order to nominate a short-list of up to 6 papers.
- The nominated papers are sent for blind review to 3 external reviewers in the field.
- The papers are ranked on the scores of the external reviewers.
- The award will be presented to all student authors of the paper with the highest rank.
