The aim of ESGEM is to significantly enhance Swiss media monitoring by accommodating Swiss German dialect broadcasts and turning them into searchable text. This requires the collaboration of three partners: (1) ARGUS der Presse AG, already active in the field of news monitoring, (2) recapp IT AG, developing products in the field of Swiss language recognition, and (3) the Idiap Research Institute, recognized as worldwide leader in the field of multilingual speech recognition.
