Idiap has a new opening for a Post-doctoral position on 3D finger-vein biometrics
The Idiap Research Institute invites applications for one post-doctoral position in biometrics. The position is funded by a new 18-month research project on 3D finger-vein sensing and recognition. The research will be carried out together with a Swiss consortium of one high-profile research institute and one company.
The work will consists in
- collecting a 3D finger-vein dataset using a new developed sensor for research, development and testing on the BEAT platform,
- develop 3D finger-vein recognition algorithms and provide support for their transfer to the industrial partner.
Reproducible research is a cornerstone of the project. Hence a strong involvement in data collection, open source libraries such as Bob and in the BEAT platform are expected.
