Convenient and Secure 3D Face Recognition based on RGB-D Cameras

Since the release of the Microsoft Kinect in 2010, there has been a rapid expansion of low-cost depth sensors, also known as RGB-D cameras. The FARGO project aims to research and implement novel RGB-D face recognition algorithms, taking benefit of these new devices to circumvent the current limitations of classic 2D methods (such as robustness to non-frontal poses, non-uniform illumination, or spoofing attacks), for the development of person authentication applications.
