Michael completed his Ph.D titled “Locating People in Video Surveillance from Semantic Descriptions” from Queensland University of Technology (Brisbane, Australia) in 2017. His thesis proposed novel methods to locate target subjects in surveillance imagery using textual queries and soft biometric attributes.
Michael has vast interests within the computer science fields, including machine learning and computer vision, however, he has particular interest in biometrics in surveillance. He is looking forward to the invaluable opportunities working in Idiap presents and looks forward to researching unique and novel topics. ;
