Postdoc in deep learning for natural language structure prediction

Idiap Research Institute seeks qualified candidates for a postdoctoral position at the intersection of machine learning and natural language processing.

This researcher will investigate attention-based deep learning models of linguistic structure prediction, in collaboration with world-class scientists in computational linguistics, speech recognition and neuroscience. Contributing to the related project on semantic induction is also possible.

The ideal Postdoc candidate should hold a PhD degree in computer science, computational linguistics or related fields. She or he should have a background in natural language processing and machine learning. The applicant should also have strong programming skills.

The successful candidate will join the Natural Language Understanding group at Idiap, under the supervision of Dr. James Henderson. Appointment for this position is for an initial period of 1 year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance. Funding is currently available for 4 years, and is likely to be extended.
