New opening for a PostDoc or Scientific Collaborator Position in Face Anti-Spoofing

The Idiap Research Institute seeks qualified candidates for one PostDoc or Scientific Collaborator position in the field of face recognition. The research will be conducted in the framework of an Industrial project.

The goal of a face recognition system is to authenticate or to identify a person through a face image, but the objective of the position is to develop novel features and models for anti-spoofing, i.e. countermeasures, to protect face recognition systems against spoofing attacks (photo or video attacks).

The proposed research will be carried out in the Biometrics group (Dr. Sebastien Marcel ) at Idiap, and will rely on previous knowledge and software developed at Idiap, more specifically the Bob toolkit and Facereclib.

The ideal candidate should hold a PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related fields. She or he should have a background in statistics or applied mathematics, optimization, linear algebra and signal processing. The applicant should also have strong programming skills and be familiar with Python, C/C++ (MATLAB is not a plus), various scripting languages and with the Linux environment. Knowledge in image processing and machine learning is an asset. Shortlisted candidate may undergo a series of tests including technical reading and writing in English and programming (in Python and/or C/C++).

Appointment for the position is for 1 year, provided successful progress and may be renewed depending on funding opportunities. Salary is competitive. Starting date is immediate.
