Prasad, RaviShankar

Short Biography

I am currently working at Idiap Research Institute, Martigny, CH-1920, as a Postdoctoral researcher.
I joined Idiap in Oct 2018, and am working with Dr. Mathew Magimai.-Doss.
I am currently working on the project 'Towards Integrated processing of Physiological and Speech signals (TIPS)'.
The project aims to develop a platform for the integrated processing of speech and other physiological signals.
The scope of the project spans around processing of speech, ECG, PCG, skin impedance, and thoracic impedance.
My work is focused towards introducing new signal processing methods to I have also worked as a learning manager for the course 'Introduction to Speech Processing' for the 'Master in AI program.

Education

I graduated from International Institute of Information Technology - Hyderabad, in June 2019.
I worked there at the Speech Processing Laboratory, under the supervision of Prof. Yegnanarayana.
The title of my thesis is Analysis of dynamics of vocal tract system using Zero time windowing method.
I started at IIIT Hyderabad in 2010 as a MS student, and converted to PhD program in 2014.
My research started off with segmentation of speech according to the acoustic and phonetic boundaries. I further continued to explore the dynamic nature of vocal--tract transfer function with time. During my tenure at IIIT-Hyderabad, I acted as a Teaching Assistant for over 5 courses, for 8 semesters.
