  • I joined IDIAP research institute as a postdoctoral researcher in September 2014. I am working in the Natural Language Processing (NLP) group with Dr. Andrei Popescu-Belis. My recent research activity is related to semantic search with the goal of interpreting queries through explicit semantic annotations. Under a technology transfer project, my current work is focused on improving the retrieval performance by relying on linking queries and content to items in Knowledge Base repositories.
  • I recieved my PhD degree in Computer Science from University of Lugano, under supervision of Prof. Fabio Crestani and Dr. Monica Landoni. My PhD thesis was focused on patent retrieval. In particular, I worked on query formulation for prior art search.
  • I am interested in challenges related to Information Retrieval in particular, query reformulation and query suggestion. I enjoy applying information retrieval, machine learning, and natural language processing techniques for intelligent management and access of information.
