Enhanced Medical Multimedia data Access (EMMA)

The goal of this project is to enhance the access to large databases of medical images accompanied by textual reports (ie. information retrieval applied to annotated medical images). Research is focussed on two main functionalities:

1. Multimodal Relevance Feedback (MRF). This functionality suggests textual keywords that can refine the results of a search performed by submitting a query image and vice-versa.


2. Automatic Metadata Extraction (AME). This functionality assigns automatically a set of predefined metadata to images for which such metadata are missing.
