Idiap has a new opening for an internship position in speech processing

The Idiap Research Institute invites applications for one internship position in the domain of speech processing. The position will be aligned with an European project on speaker identification.

More specifically, the planned work will comprise:

  • evaluating automatic speaker identification algorithms developed at Idiap
  • integrating one of the solutions using Idiap cloud speech APIs (exploiting existing APIs such as those for voice activity detection or automatic speech recognition)

The ideal candidate should follow a M.Sc. program or hold a M.Sc. degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related fields. She or he should have a background in statistics or applied mathematics, linear algebra and signal processing. The applicant should also have strong programming skills and be familiar with Python, C/C++ (MATLAB is not a plus), various scripting languages and with the Linux environment. Knowledge in speech processing and machine learning is an asset. Shortlisted candidate may undergo a series of tests including technical reading and writing in English and programming (in Python and/or C/C++).

Appointment for the position is for 6 month. Salary is 2'000 CHF per month. Starting date is early autumn 2016.
